Everywhere I go I find a poet has been there before me!
— Sigmund Freud

Kim Rosen, M.F.A.,  has awakened listeners around the world to the power of poetry to heal and transform individuals and communities. She is the author of Saved by a Poem: The Transformative Power of Words. Combining her devotion to poetry, her background  in psychotherapy and spirituality and her gifts as a creator of ceremony and transformational vessels, she offers events in retreat centers, conferences, universities, professional trainings, churches, corporations, and hospices throughout the world. She has delivered poems in a spectrum of settings from the crypt of Chartres Cathedral to the New Orleans Superdome after Hurricane Katrina to a Maasai Safe House in Kenya.  In 2010 she founded the Safe House Education (S.H.E.) Fund to give Maasai girls who have fled Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Early Childhood Marriage an opportunity to go to college and transform the oppression of women in their families, their tribe and the world. In 2012, she founded the Poetry Depths Mystery School and Soul School, multi-dimensional immersions in self revelation through the portals of beauty, poetry, silence, music, movement and radical authenticity in a community of shared intention.  Co-creator of four CDs of spoken poetry and music, Rosen has been on the faculty of the Omega Institute, Kripalu, Rowe Conference Center, Wisdom University, Sonoma State College and the International Pathwork Foundation.

Kim earned a B.A. from Yale University and an M.F.A. in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College. Her work has been published in O Magazine, The Sun Magazine, Spirituality and Health Magazine, The Huffington Post, Feminist.com, HealYourLife.com and The Texas Review among others, and she was a recipient of the 2001 Robinson Jeffers Tor House Prize for Poetry. She has been a guest on Oprah RadioNew Dimensions Radio, TEDx Maui and CNN Radio Network, and other media.

As a facilitator of inner work for groups and individuals, Kim’s work is inspired by her training in Core Energetic Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Drama Therapy, and Hands-on Healing as well as her personal immersion in the teachings of the Pathwork, Gangaji, Byron Katie and other non-dual teachers. She is a Pathwork Helper and a teacher of Breathwork and the Work of Byron Katie.

Kim’s CDs, Only BreathThe Fire and The RoseVesica (all with composer/cellist Jami Sieber), and Naked Waters (with composer/pianist Cathie Malach and producer Peter Kater), are innovative interweavings of spoken poetry and music.

Kim teaches us that even now - in a time of grave danger, cynicism and terrible confusion - it is possible to live and to speak from the undefended heart.... Listen. Take heart.
